A starting pair is the simplest form of model to build. It's comprised of just two element types and one connection type between them. If you're building a model for the first time we suggest just creating a starting pair first.

The Getting Started page that you encountered on the homepage of your new Studio or City is built from just the simple pair shown below, with one additional connection type:




The model above is slightly more advanced than just a starting pair because in addition to the two element types and one connection between them, the model also has a self-referential connection between concepts. This represents that a concept can be related to other concepts and is why in the Getting Started view the concept of "Starting Pair" has links to related concepts of "Element Types" and "Connection Types".
